Soveida Baez Cruz de Perez

Two-Year-Old Teacher

Soveida is sweetly know as Ms. Sonia to our students, parents and staff.  After many years as a stay at home mom she decided to return to the work force and become a preschool teacher.  Her energy and fun vibe is felt by all those around her.  She can always be found dancing singing or exercising with her students.  She likes to spend her weekends with her granddaughter and grown children. 

Vanessa Roys

Director​

Vanessa Roys has been at Springview Academy since it’s inception in 2014. Ms. Vanesa, as she is affectionately known to all our families, has a natural love and nurture for all our students. She is a constant professional and exceptional leader. Her love for early education grew early on when she started as an aftercare teacher for the City of Hialeah at the young age of 18. Since then she has worked in all aspects of early childhood education. She is married to her high school sweetheart and enjoys traveling and home decorating.

Claudia Herrera

Assistant Director​

Claudia Herrera’s love for education started as a 2-year-old teacher when she has just 19 years old. Since that time, she has been a 3-year-old teacher and a VPK teacher. She completed her director’s credential last year and due to her hard work and supportive nature she was placed in an administrative position. Ms. Claudia is the cheerful face you first see when you enter Springview Academy. She likes to craft, shop and spend time with her 2-year-old daughter Emma, a Springview Academy student.

Joyce Amaro

VPK Teacher

Joyce Amaro was a Springview Academy parent prior to being a teacher. She started working with us in 2015 as a teacher assistant in the 3’s classroom. Her sweet, calm demeaner quickly won over all the students and parents. She likes to read, shop and listen to music but her true enjoyment is spending time with her 4-year-old daughter and 1-year old son, both students at Springview Academy.

Melissa Alonso

VPK Teacher

This is Melissa’s Alonso’s second year at Springview Academy, but she has worked in the childcare field for the last 6 years. She started her career as a special needs aftercare and summer camp counselor for a nonprofit organization that works with at risk youth. Her structured and motivating character pushes her students to be their best. Her goal is to teach her students that nothing is impossible if they try. She likes to fish and horseback ride with her husband and daughter.

Sucel Muniz

VPK Teacher

Sucel Muniz always knew she wanted to be a teacher. She has a degree in Spanish Education and has been in the early education field for 14 years and at Springview Academy since 2015. Over the years she has taught toddlers through VPK. She receives praise from administrators and parents for her classroom management and impeccably organized classroom. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her 2 boys, reading and exercising.

Bianca Fermin

VPK Teacher Assistant

This is Bianca Fermin’s second year working in childcare and her first year at Springview Academy. Her kind and supportive personality have already made her an asset to the center. She is a third-year pediatric nursing student and enjoys reading and baking when she isn’t working or studying.

Jackie Robles

Three-Year-Old Teacher

Jackie Robles has been a 3-year-old teacher since 2003. Ms. Jackie joined Springview Academy in 2017 and her extensive classroom experience and creativity have benefited her students and their parents. She has a degree in physical science and math and always thought she would be a high school science teacher until she entered a preschool classroom and fell in love with the early childhood profession. She is married and has 2 adult children. She likes to spend her weekends fishing and relaxing by the ocean.

Rosa Kasse

Three-Year-Old Teacher

Rosa Kasse joined Springview Academy in 2017 and has been a teacher since 1989. She has a Bachelor’s Degree Elementary Education and a Master’s Degree in Education. She has cared and taught for children from the time they were 1 through middle school. Her sweet attitude towards her students, parents and colleagues makes everyone who walks into her class welcomed. She is married and has 2 children and 3 grandkids who attend Springview Academy. She likes to travel, spend time with her grandchildren and read.

Jackie Gautier

Three-Year-Old Teacher

Jackie Gautier has been working in the early education field for 10 years. Prior to working with young children, she was a certified teacher in Venezuela with upper elementary school students. She is married and has 3 children. She loves to listen to music, dance and hopes to have grandchildren soon.

Fabiola Bocaney

Three-Year-Old Teacher

Fabiola Bocaney’s beautiful singing voice can be heard throughout the school on any given day since 2016. Originally a singer, with a Bachelor’s degree in music education, she has been a preschool teacher for 14 years. When she is not working at Springview Academy she is a “dog mom” to a Doberman Pincher and performs at singing venues around town with her husband.

Helen Rodriguez

Two-Year-Old Teacher

Helen Rodriguez has been a 2-year-old teacher since 2016. Prior to joining Springview Academy in 2017 she volunteered and worked at a prestigious preschool in the Greater Miami area. She earned a degree in Nutrition and worked as a nutritionist for child care centers in Havana, Cuba. Students are fortunate to have Ms. Helen and her nutritional knowledge. She is married and has a 3-year-old son that attends the center. She likes to cook, go to the beach and spend time playing at the park with her son.

Katherine Martinez

Two-Year-Old Teacher

Katherine Martinez came to the realization she wanted to be an early childhood teacher when she volunteered in a second-grade class 3 years ago. She completed her volunteer hours at Springview Academy and shortly there after became a teacher assistant. She is married and has a 3 year old son who also attends Springview. She loves going to the movies, watching TV and going to the beach with her family.

Milagros Otero

Toddler Teacher

Milagros Otero was a teacher on opening day at Springview Academy. She started working in childcare in 2001 and has worked her way up from toddler teacher assistant to toddler lead teacher. Her loving attitude towards her students makes the transition into her class easy. She is married and has a 10-year-old son. She loves to spend time with them and cook. She enjoys cleaning and organizing her home and classroom.

Ivonne Gacel

Principal

Ivonne Gacel has a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education and Maste’rs degree in Educational Leadership. She has over 9 years of experience in the education field. She has taught Pre-K, Kindergarten, First Grade and Third Grade. As a first-year principal she feels excited and grateful for the opportunity to be able to provide the students with a fun and exciting school year. Education has always been her passion, from being in the classroom inspiring children to be the best version of themselves to working with teachers and motivating them to achieve greatness in their classrooms. She is married with a daughter and a son who both attend Springview Academy. When she isn’t leading the way for our school she enjoys crafting, baking and party planning. Her favorite quote to live by as the principal is: “Great leaders don’t set out to be a leader… they set out to make a difference. It’s never about the role – Always about the Goal.” -Lisa Haisha.

Jocelyne Sanchez

Kindergarten Teacher

Ms. Sanchez has been involved in early childhood education since the young age of 14. She joined Springview Academy as an afterschool teacher in 2014. She studied and worked her way up to a teacher assistant, then a VPK teacher and now a Kindergarten teacher. She enjoys that she gets to spend each day helping students unravel their uniqueness and feels she has the best job in the world. In her own words “I can’t imagine doing anything else”. When she isn’t molding young minds she likes to travel, craft and read.

Maria Cayon

Administrative Assistant

Maria Cayon has a degree in Business Administration and a background in banking. Eager for a change from the business world she joined Springview Academy in 2015. She loves working with children and enjoys greeting them and their parents at the door every morning. Ms. Mary has 3 daughters and loves to spend the weekends with them and her nieces and nephews. She also enjoys crafting, shopping and is the school’s unofficial party planner.

Kelley Camacho

First Grade Teacher

Ms. Camacho joined Springview Academy in 2016 as a First-Grade teacher. Her love of teaching was ignited in 2012 when she was an afterschool teacher and a teacher assistant for Dade County Public Schools. She has a degree in Elementary Education and enjoys exercising, cooking and traveling.

Stacey Caro

Second Grade Teacher

Ms. Caro has been teaching in the private school sector for 3 years and has been at Springview Academy since 2017. She has a degree in nursing but wouldn’t trade teaching for the world. She loves being a 2nd Grade because of all the exploring, learning, and fun they get to have! She is married to her junior high sweetheart and they have 3 kids. She spends most of her free time crafting and cheering on her sons in baseball.

Alyssa Hernandez

Third/Fourth Grade Teacher

This is the second school year that Ms. Hernandez is part of the Springview Academy family. She is a 3rd/4th grade teacher and is very excited to continue her journey at our school. She recently graduated from Florida International University with a Bachelor’s degree in Education. She has always known that she wanted to be a teacher. She believes that teaching should be one’s passion and has looked forward to becoming an educator since she was a little girl. She loves to go out to dinner and shop with her 2-year-old daughter.

Dorothy Acosta-Hays

Art/Music Teacher

Ms. Hays has been an art teacher for over 25 years. Her love of art became obvious when she was a high school student and she would be commissioned by her teachers to draw or paint pictures for the school’s bulletin boards. She feels group interaction and cooperation are vital for student development and strives to teach students social skills while applying to art as well as everyday living. In addition to being an art teacher she is a practicing artist and has been commissioned to paint portraits for people.

Catalina Porto

Spanish Teacher

Ms. Porto first ventured into teaching in 1977 when she received a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish education. Since then she has taught student’s in grades K-12 how to speak, read and write in Spanish. She loves to hear her bilingual students communicate with her. In her time off she likes to spend time with her grandchildren.

Gabriella Redondo

First Grade Teacher Assistant

This is Gabriella’s first year at Springview Academy. She is a student at Miami Dade College majoring in psychology and hopes to attend law school. She has been working in a school setting since she was 17 years old. She likes to dance, spend time with her dog Luke and watch makeup tutorials.

Alexandra Sarmiento

Aftercare Director

Ms. Alex joined Springview Academy in 2017 as a summer camp and afterschool counselor. She is a nursing student at Miami Dade College and loves her job because she likes seeing the student’s grow from year to year. She has great communication with the parents and her afterschool staff. She enjoys reading, shopping and spending time with friends and family.

Margye Cayon

Afterschool Teacher

Margye Cayon also joined the Springview Academy last year as an aftercare teacher. She is a psychology student at St. Thomas University and loves to work with kids. She likes to volunteer her time to those in need, go to the gym and eat on her time off.

Nicole Ballestas

Afterschool Teacher

Nicole Ballestres began working and volunteering with young children when she was 15 years old in her high school’s childcare center. In 2017, she started working for Springview Academy as an after-school teacher. She enjoys helping students with their homework and hearing about their day. She is a health science major at Miami Dade College and one day hopes to work in the medical field.
