Drop off and pick up policies
Upon review of data we have determined that limiting the contact of adults in our school may support our community's mitigation of the virus.
Beginning on Monday morning, May 11th, Springview
Academy will receive and deliver children from their parents/guardians at the front door for drop-off
and pick-up times. Springview Academy will no longer provide an open-door policy for families,
visitors, and volunteers.
- Between the hours of 6:30 AM and 10:00 AM a Springview Academy teacher/Director will be at the front door ready to greet children and walk them to their classrooms.
- We will only allow ONE adult to drop off a child.
- One child will be admitted or released at a time.
- Please remain in your car if you see another drop off or pick up in progress.
- Children will be checked in by a teacher and parents will receive approval notifications.
- If your child is a school readiness or VPK student you must bring your own pen and sign the sheet which will be left outside.
- At pick up time, between 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM, we will reverse this process and help your child to the front door with their belongings to go home.
- We do ask that if you plan to drop-off or pick-up your child outside of the outlined times that you call ahead.
- No outside instruction will occur (therapy, ballet, etc)
- We will not provide outside services within the center at this time. Please make arrangements with your provider to continue care outside of the school.
- Absolutely no toys from home will be allowed in the school.
- Absolutely no bookbags from home will be allowed in the school.
- Absolutely no car seats will be left at the school.
- Children with any of the following symptoms will not be permitted at Preschool: Fever, Cough, Fatigue, Shortness of breath, Body aches, Runny/stuffy nose, Sore throat, Vomiting/diarrhea, Headache, Loss of smell/taste.
- Household Illness: If any household member has been ill in any way, we ask that you keep your child at home until everyone in the household has been symptom free for 72 hours.
- Once travel bans have been lifted: If a parent/guardian has traveled outside of Miami Dade/Broward/Monroe county, the child will not be permitted in the building for 14 days as a precaution.
Family Travel*
If your family is going on vacation in which you will be in any airport nationwide, there will be a 14-day window upon return that your child will not be permitted in the building. Due to the nature of Coronavirus (COVID-19), it may take several days for symptoms to appear.
